Terms of service
Pilot review draft: July 15, 2026 · Thorton LLC
Two audiences may use this site: businesses invited to the Release 1 pilot and their customers who receive messages after activation. Joining the waitlist does not create an account. A business pilot begins only after the authorized operator signs the final pilot agreement and required data terms.
1. What OwnerSwitch is
OwnerSwitch is a product brand owned and operated by Thorton LLC, a California limited liability company. It is an invite-only Release 1 communication console for service businesses. After provider activation, it may provide a managed pilot number, supported lead intake, a shared review queue, AI-prepared customer-care suggestions, and follow-up state. Paperwork, quoting, invoicing, and payment collection are not included in this release. OwnerSwitch is a tool operated by the business: the business - not OwnerSwitch - is responsible for the content it approves and sends and for the work it performs.
2. The human-approval rule
OwnerSwitch does not send business-initiated customer messages autonomously. Every such message requires approval by an authorized person at the business before sending. Narrow carrier-required consent or opt-out confirmations may be automatic and are recorded. We build the product so this rule cannot be turned off, and these terms don't permit anyone to try.
3. If you're a customer of a business using OwnerSwitch
- Messaging is optional and governed by your consent, which you can revoke at any time (reply STOP, unsubscribe link, or the opt-out form). Revoking consent doesn't affect your right to do business by phone or in person.
- Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. See the SMS program terms.
- Your contract for electrical or other work is with the business alone. OwnerSwitch isn't a contractor, doesn't perform or supervise work, and doesn't guarantee any quote, schedule, permit outcome, or workmanship.
- Release 1 does not create invoices, payment links, or payment reminders. Any payment arrangement is directly between you and the business through its separately chosen process.
- Never use text messaging for emergencies. If you have an electrical emergency, call 911 or your utility.
4. If you're a business using OwnerSwitch
- You may only message customers who have the required consent, and you must honor every revocation. OwnerSwitch enforces consent checks before each send, but the legal obligation to message lawfully is yours.
- No prohibited content: no marketing blasts, no SHAFT content (sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco), no messages outside an active customer relationship or workflow. We suspend numbers that carriers flag.
- You're responsible for reviewing AI drafts before approving them. Drafts are suggestions; approving one makes it your statement.
- You must be a properly licensed contractor where required and keep your business facts (license number, service area, prices) accurate in your operating pack.
- Fees, cancellation, and data export are set out in your subscription agreement.
5. Acceptable use of this website
Don't abuse the forms (no automated submissions, no submitting other people's contact information without authority), probe the service for vulnerabilities except through our disclosure process (security@ownerswitch.com), or misrepresent who you are. We rate-limit and block abuse.
6. Intellectual property
The site, product, and their content are ours or our licensors'. Your business data remains yours; conversations belong to the business-customer relationship they came from. You give us the limited license needed to operate the service - nothing more.
7. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is." We don't warrant uninterrupted operation, carrier delivery times, or that AI drafts are error-free - that's why a person approves them. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, engineering, or safety advice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Thorton LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for claims relating to the website or (for customers) message delivery is capped at $100; for subscribing businesses, the cap in your subscription agreement applies instead. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.
9. Governing law and disputes
California law governs, and disputes go to the state or federal courts of Orange County, California. Before filing anything, email us - most problems are fixable in a week.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes get posted here with a new effective date and, for subscribing businesses, direct notice. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
